Individual trainings

Camp Vanja Grbić – quality over quantity

Individual trainings are an important and carefully designed part of the program of the Vanja Grbic Camp, intended for the further development of technical precision, understanding of the game and self-confidence of children and young players.

These trainings are not designed as a mere repetition of exercises, but as targeted, quality work that adapts to the age, position in the team, current level of knowledge and individual needs of each child.

The concept of individual training

During the camp, a total of 5 individual trainings are carried out, which are planned on the basis of:

  • Coach’s observations during selective training

  • A child’s love in the first days of the camp

  • age and physical abilities

  • the child’s own desires and motivations

Although the name suggests “individual”, these trainings are most often carried out in small groups of 2 to 5 players , since through experience it has been shown that it is an optimal balance between work intensity and physical load, especially after the main group training sessions.

One-to-one work is applied only when there is a clear need for it.

Why work in small groups?

Working in small groups allows you to:

  • A high level of individual attention

  • Less physical and mental fatigue

  • Greater interaction and learning through game situations.

  • Better concentration and understanding of tasks.

At Camp Vanja Grbić, individual trainings are quality-oriented, not quantitatively oriented – the goal is not to do more, but to do it correctly.

What exactly is being worked on?

The content of individual training sessions depends on the position and role of the player on the field.

  • routine and safety in performance

Particular emphasis is placed on understanding the “what” and “why” of a particular movement, not just mechanical repetition.

Cognitive Perception – Thinking in Play

One of the key segments of individual training is the development of cognitive perception – the ability of a player:

  • recognize the situation

  • Make the right and quick decision.

  • Connects movement, technique and tactics

This segment is especially important in modern volleyball and makes the difference between a technically good and a player-mature athlete.

Professional supervision and work philosophy

Individual trainings are conducted by the best trainers of the camp, with constant control of the quality of work. A special role in defining the approach, philosophy and direction of development is played by Vladimir Grbić, who actively monitors the process, gives suggestions and directs work on individual elements of the game.

The goal is for each player:

  • He understands his own progress.

  • Get clear directions for further work.

  • Build security and self-confidence
